A school principal has been nabbed by police for allegedly raping a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, KCSE, candidate. Wajir police boss, Stephen Ng’etich, informed the media that the principal allegedly raped the candidate on Saturday after offering the female student a ride in his vehicle.

The principal may have then sedated the girl, raped her and dumped her after about two hours. Medication examination carried on the 18 year old student indicated forced penetration leading to the arrest of the principal.

Speaking to the media in Mombasa, this morning, Education Cabinet secretary Amb. Amina Mohammed highlighted on the arrest saying the ministry is drafting a policy to deal with the rising cases of teenage pregnancies.

The Teachers Service Commission, TSC, boss, Dr. Nancy Macharia said that the commission will de-register teachers who engage in sexual relations with their students. She was speaking to the media this morning after supervising an examination container’s opening exercise in Nyeri town.
